Giorgi Sharabize, Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) delivered a presentation at the international seminar titled “Election Dispute Resolution in Georgia: Challenges and Steps Ahead” organized by the Council of Europe (CoE) and the Venice Commission.
Giorgi Sharabidze in his speech highlighted the existing challenges and successful experience concerning electoral disputes in Georgia as well as activities implemented and planned by the Election Administration (EA) in this respect.
Among keynote speakers were Lawyer of the European Court of Human Rights and Deputy Director-General of the Office of the Attorney General of Ireland, member of the Venice Commission. They discussed international standards and good practices on election dispute resolution at the meeting.
Seminar on November 29 was attended by members of the Central Election Commission, Training Centre Director Ms. Natia Zaalishvili, also Georgian lawmakers, and representatives of political parties, judiciary, the international community, and civil society.
