Participants of the Election Administration (EA) participated in a working meeting “Electoral Participation and Education for Democracy” held in Sinaia, Romania.
A few important issues were discussed at the working meeting which was attended by Ketevan Janelidze, Head of CEC Public Relations Division and Maia Gudadze, Head of Training Programs Division at CEC Training Centre. Parties discussed global challenges, how to increase voter turnout and voter engagement in the electoral processes. The discussion tackled effective methods for increasing voter turnout. In view of this, participants discussed the methods which can be best used in countries undergoing democratic transition. In the framework of the meeting, they also talked about the role of social media in the electoral processes.
In addition, CEC and Training Centre representatives participated in 7th General Assembly of Francophone Electoral Skills Network (RECEF) where the discussion touched voter rights and their engagement in the electoral process. As part of the meeting, Europarliament Elections were also discussed.
Working meetings were organized by the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania in cooperation with RECEF. CEC representatives remained in Sinaia from June 5 to June 8.
