According to the Concept of Trainings (available in Georgian) developed by the Training Center on April 23-24, 2019, first stage trainings were held for PEC leadership for the Parliamentary By-elections of Georgia, Sakrebulo By-elections and Extraordinary Mayoral Elections. From April 30, second stage trainings will be commenced for the remaining members of PECs (9 members from each PEC).

As part of the profile training program, the participants will get acquainted with the following key matters:

• opening a precinct and distribution of functions among PEC members by casting lots;
• activities of PEC members to ensure exercising of voting right by voters in the polling process;
• voters’ personal data protection;
• rights of persons authorized to be present in the polling station;
• activities of PEC members in the process of closing a polling station and counting of the votes;
• summarizing polling results at the PEC.

To promote enhanced procedural knowledge of PEC members, the training will be delivered using a combined methodology; this will include episodic role-plays by participants to enhance practical skills. As part of the practical teaching, video will be shown and relevant instructions will be provided to PEC members concerning the matters of participation of voters with disabilities in elections.
