Tamar Zhvania, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, Marine Tsulukidze, Commission Member, Natia Zaalishvili, Director of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training Centre and Tamar Kapanadze, Head of International Relations and Protocol Division participated in 16th International Electoral Symposium from May 28 to 31, 2018.
The Symposium was co-organized by the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) and National Election Commission of Portugal (CNE). At the event, Tamar Zhvania delivered the speech and talked about increasing engagement of young voters in electoral processes and on their encouragement. Ms. Zhvania presented symposium participants information on CEC’s and the Training Centre’s current and implemented activities in this regard.
Within the framework of the event, the participants discussed the important issues, such as: current and future electoral technologies, youth voter participation in electoral processes, elections and voters with disabilities, recruitment and training of electoral stakeholders, elections and digital campaigning, gender equality and political empowerment of women.
Officials of various Election Management Bodies, representatives of international organizations working on election issues and companies oriented on electoral technologies participated in the symposium.
