The representatives of CEC and the Training Centre attended event devoted to the 20th anniversary of Election Administration of Moldova. Natia Zaalishvili a director and Nino Berulava, a deputy director of the Training Centre, Tea Khukhia, the head of State Procurement Division at CEC and Ketevan Vardanashvili, a specialist at Coordination, Planning and Reporting department at CEC participated in the event held in the capital of Moldova.
Within the framework of the visit the representatives of Georgian delegation participated in the round table regarding the following topic “Experiences and good practices of electoral management bodies in promoting gender equality and women participation in elections”. Natia Zaalishvili, the director of the Training Center made a report about the importance of civil education concerning gender equality issues, as well as about providing finances and quotes for the political parties in a gender regard.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Moldova and the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CCET) Moldova established organization "Women in Electoral Management (WEM) International" that involves various election management bodies, including CEC of Georgia. Tea Khukhia briefed attendees on this new initiative and provided them with the information about activities conducted by EA of Georgia in this regard.
During the visit the representative of CEC and the Training Centre met with the officials from the Central Election Commission and government of Moldova, as well as with the representatives of different election administrations and international organizations and discussed issues concerning elections.
The events took place on October 16 and 17. The event was organized in cooperation with Centre for Continuous Electoral Training with the support of UNDP Moldova.
