Members of the Parliament of Moldova, the Election Administration and the Training Center of Moldova met with the representatives of Georgia CEC of and the Training Center. Tamar Zhvania, CEC Chair, and Natia Zaalishvili, Training Center Director, presented to them main directions, implemented and ongoing projects of the Electoral Administration and the Training Center.
“Main goal of the Moldova delegation visit was to get a good understanding of the Election Administration operations in light of the educational programs, trainings, certification process implemented by the Election Administration of Georgia. This has been a very positive meeting. I believe that the exchange of experience is important for us as well as for our Moldovan colleagues” – Tamar Zhvania said after the meeting.
According to Alina Russu, Chair of the Election Administration of Moldova, Head of the Delegation, learning about the experience of the Georgia CEC Training Center is especially important.
“We are particularly interested in the experience of the Training Center of Georgia Election Administration, in the implementation of trainings. Our Training Center has been operating since 2012 and we have certain experience, but it is always very interesting to get exposed to the experience of others, and that is the reason behind our visit to Georgia” – said Alina Russu.
The representatives of Moldova Election Administration also met with the heads of the CEC Legal Department and Electoral Processes Management Department and discussed involvement of district election commissions in electoral education programs implemented in cooperation with the Training Center. Delegation members also held meetings at the Parliament of Georgia.
As part of the study tour, Moldova delegation members will also attend the training program organized by the Training Center for the representatives of political parties.
The visit of the delegation commenced in Georgia on June 12 and will end on June 16. The CoE has funded the study tour.
