On May 30, an open doors day was organized at the CEC for the students taking a semestrial course in Electoral Law as part of the Law Clinic at the CEC Training Center.
Students of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Sokhumi State University and Caucasus University got acquainted with the activities of the Election Administration (EA) in details. Deputy Chairperson of the CEC, Giorgi Sharabidze talked about the importance of conducting the elections at the professional level and outlined the activities that the CEC implements for the improvement of electoral environment in general.
Students also, met the head of coordination, planning and reporting department, Sophio Sitchinava which paid attention to the activities of the EA dedicated directly to the youth. They had the opportunity to visit historical photo exhibition at the CEC, which includes unique materials of Georgian history and reflects the period of 1918-2008. At the end of the meeting visitors were introduced to the activities of the Informational Technologies Department as well.
The CEC hosted the students in the frames of educational program implemented by the training center of the CEC. The legal clinic has been functioning since 2010 at the CEC training center. The aim of the legal clinic is to enhance essential professional skills in the field of electoral law, development of their practical skills and raise civic awareness among the students of law faculty of higher education institutions.
