Due to the invitation from the International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS), Tamar Zhvania, CEC Chair and Natia Zaalishvili, CEC Training Center Director, are taking part in 13th International Electoral Matters Symposium held in Mozambique, Maputo City.

Representatives of Georgian Election Administration shared experience with the representatives of various countries participating in the Symposium about new services offered to voters through modern technologies, as well as about the pilot project implemented at the initiative of the Election Administration for the first time this year; specifically, counting of the Parliamentary Election results was broadcasted using a 360 video shooting through social networks and the CEC website. Any interested person was able to follow the vote counting process in live.

As part of the Symposium, awards ceremony of winner individuals and organizations under the International Electoral Competition is also held. Notably, since 2013, global electoral contest has been organized by the ICPS; electoral administrations of numerous countries, international and non-governmental organizations submit projects for electoral nominations. At the decision of the International Electoral Awards Committee, the most innovative, original and effective project is identified, involving holding elections according to international standards. This year, Georgian Election Administration is among finalists for two electoral nominations.

The award committee for the international electoral contest in 2016 is comprised of: Michael Bruter, International Center of Psychology, Alberto Guevara Castro – Electoral Tribunal, Mexico Federal Court, Pierre Garron, COE, Miranda Greenstreet – Ghana Local Election Observers Coalition, Beata Martin Rozumilowicz – IFES, Peter Wardle – UK Election Commission, Matt Gokhool, ICPS, Natia Zaalishvili, CEC Training Center Director (Committee member since 2014).

It is worth noting that the CEC Training Center received the first international electoral award in 2013 in the nomination - First-time Voter, while in 2015 Election Administration won in the nomination - Administration of Elections.
