Meeting of standing working group on the issues of persons with disabilities (PWD) was held at the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia on November 15. The Director of the Training Centre attended the meeting as the member of Working Group.

Participants discussed the achievements in terms of PWD’s independent participation in the 8 October Elections and further talked about the revealed inaccuracies. Tamar Zhvania, the CEC Chairperson talked about the services Election Administration (EA) has implemented for PWDs and drew attention on tactile ballot guide which was for the first time available for blind voters.

Representatives of Non-governmental organizations working on PWD issues also attended the meeting along with the group members.

It is worth noting, that the initiative of EA to conduct such meetings are conducted on a regular basis at the CEC in order to improve the inclusive election environment.
