Training on electoral issues was organized for regional media journalists. The role of media in election process and updates of election legislation were the main topics of the training.
The following themes were introduced in details to the regional media representatives: rights of media representatives, E-day procedures, inclusive policy for voters with special needs, regulations of photo/video shooting, international experience sharing, basic schemes of covering elections and the usage of administrative resources.
The training was implemented by the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and its Training Center in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Georgian Regional Media Association (GRMA) and Association of Regional Broadcasting (GARB).
Training was conducted by the expert of IFES, and the representatives of the CEC Training Center, Legal Department and Coordination, Planning and Reporting Department of the CEC.
Three-day trainings were held in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. 75 regional media representatives (TV, print media, internet and radio) from Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Imereti, Svaneti, Guria, Samegrelo and Adjara regions participated in the trainings.
