“Electoral Development School” launches admission of applicants. Young people aged to 18-24 will be able to undergo learning course and receive relevant knowledge on electoral issues. The course will commence on July 25.

Applicants will have an opportunity to gain knowledge on important issues, covering the following topics: election systems, election administration, democratic electoral principles, elective bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, gender equality, transparency and accessibility of elections.

The project aims at promoting elections through increasing civic participation and promoting elections among youth. “Electoral Development School” also intends to cover whole Georgia, which enables election administration representatives to share their own professional experience with youth.

The Electoral Development Schools’ project was successfully piloted in 2015. This year the number of electoral development schools has been doubled. The learning course will be implemented in 20 municipalities (Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Telavi, Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Dusheti, Gori, Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Ambrolauri, Sachkhere, Zestaponi, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi, Kobuleti).

The registration will be opened from 16 until 21 July. Applicants should complete the application form and submit to any District Election Commission. Applicants shall provide identification document while submitting the application.

The project is being implemented by the support of Council of Europe (CoE) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
