On December 3-5, 2014, the Symposium and awarding ceremony was held in Cape Town, South Africa. The representatives of the Election Administration of Georgia attended the event. Natia Zaalishvili, Director of the CEC Training Center was named as a member of the jury of the international competition- “International Election Award- 2014.” Similar international competition was held in 2013 where the Training Centre was named as the winner Of the International Competition nomination – “First Voter”.
On the Symposium were discussed such an important issues as planning and management of electoral processes, the role of technologies in these processes, electoral budget and donor assistance, biometric solutions for various electoral issues in the process of ensuring mobility, security and identity, relations with media, etc. were discussed At the Symposium.
Representatives of election administrations and of companies working on elections technologies from various countries took part in the Annual Symposium.
The Symposium is organized annually by the International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS). This year the event was held in cooperation with the South Africa Election Administration. The Symposium at which existing challenges and the options for their solution are discussed facilitates effective management of electoral processes and improvement of relations among the parties involved in elections.
