In September of 2013, international competition – “International Electoral Award 2013” was announced. Representatives of the election administrations from many countries participated in international competition, whereas they presented their projects on various election nominations.
Training Center of the Central Election Commission of Georgia presented project on nomination – “First Voter”; project included activities accomplished by the Training Center for developing election culture of young voters, including large-scale educational project fulfilled in the universities of Georgia – “Study Course in Election law”.
On November 1, 2013, under the decision of the International Election Award Committee, Georgia –with CEC Training Center Project, Romania and Peru Republic were selected as the finalists of the nomination “First Voter”.
The final decision was announced at the International Electoral Awards Ceremony, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 4, 2013, organized by the International Centre of Parliamentary Studies (ICPS), where the representatives of the Training Center and the CEC were invited as well.
Natia Zaalishvili, Director of the CEC Training Center was named as the winner among other nominees of the International Competition nomination – “First Voter”; presented project was named as the most innovative and original project of 2013, having long-term results in the field of development of election culture among the young voters.
