Representatives of the LEPL Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings paid an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The delegation members served as international observers for the municipal elections held on March 18, 2026. The mission included Natia Zaalishvili, Director of the Training Centre; Ekaterine Chapichadze, Lawyer of the Administrative Department; and Tornike Gogisvanidze, Study Resources Development Manager of the Training Programs’ Department.
Prior to and on polling day, the delegation members of the Training Centre attended meetings at the election administration. During the briefings, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands provided participants with the information on the election administration process; among them, the design of the new ballot paper piloted for the municipal elections were discussed, as well as challenges, in response to which the aforementioned innovation was introduced. On election day, the Training Centre representatives directly observed the voting and counting procedures at various polling stations.
The international observation mission for the elections in the Kingdom of the Netherlands brought together representatives from electoral administrations of various countries and international organizations.
