The Election Administration is preparing for the 2025 Municipal Elections, ensuring their smooth conduct and adherence to high professional standards as a top priority. For this purpose, a discussion on election-related activities and the presentation of the 2025 Action Plan were held today at the Central Election Commission (CEC). The event was opened by the CEC Chairperson, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, who discussed the key areas of the Election Administration’s work outlined in the Action Plan, aimed at facilitating the administration of elections in line with international standards. The CEC Chairperson also noted that the active involvement of the Election Administration staff is especially important in both the planning and implementation of these activities.
The current year is an election year. It is well known to the public that municipal elections are complex, and as such, are even more crucial in terms of planning and administration. For this purpose, as well as to appropriately address other challenges, the institution has developed a new Action Plan. Today, the Action Plan was presented and discussed with staff across the entire Election Administration, including representatives from the CEC staff, the Training Center, and the District Election Commissions. Together, we reviewed all the key activities that will ensure both institutional strengthening and the high-level professional administration of the October 4 elections," noted Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
At today's event, the Head of the CEC Human Resources Management and Labor Safety Department, Tamar Tsertsvadze, provided participants with a detailed overview of the Action Plan. She noted that the 2025 Action Plan was developed in accordance with the Election Administration's 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, which includes the following three main priorities - improving the electoral environment; Institutional strengthening and technological development. Additionally, Tamar Tsertsvadze elaborated on the importance of monitoring, reporting, and periodic evaluation in ensuring the effective implementation of the Action Plan.
At the end of the event, a presentation of informational video-clip was held on the "Implementation of Electronic Elections in Georgia," which showcases the Election Administration's efforts and achievements in modernizing the electoral process.
