From May 26 to June 14 of this year, Zurab Kharatishvili, Head of the CEC and Natia Zaalishvili, Head of and the Centre of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings officially visited Japan and Korea.
Representatives of the Election Administration attended a workshop in Tokyo, where the issues of national assembly and elections were discussed. Participants of the workshop were introduced with the experience of various countries, discussed principles of the democratic government and development steps in this field. Georgian delegation also introduced with modern election technologies and innovations.
Representatives of the Center and Election Center visited Japan by invitation of the JICA.
On June 12-14, Delegation visited Korea, where memorandum of understanding was concluded between Korean and Georgian election administrators. Instrument includes potential development of the international standard level in both election administration and sharing of experiences. Representatives of the election administrations of Georgia and Korea discussed the next stage of the cooperation.
