The basic program of professional development for professional civil servants developed by the LEPL Centre for Electoral Systems Development, reforms and Trainings (Training Centre) - "Course for Development of Personal and Professional Competences" was accredited.
The quality control of the program and granting of the relevant accreditation are ensured by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. At the meeting of the Accreditation Council held on March 28, 2023, the members of the Council unanimously granted accreditation to the Training Centre for the implementation of the basic program of professional development for professional civil servants.
As part of the accreditation process, the Council confirmed compliance with the established standards and positively evaluated the program developed by the Training Centre, infrastructure of the Training Centre (material-technical base), qualification of trainers and other relevant employees of the Training Centre involved in the planning and implementation of the program.
The purpose of the accredited program of the Training Centre is to promote the development of knowledge and skills necessary for the exercise of powers by civil servants, to establish a high professional standard in the public service and to ensure proper functioning of the public institutions.
“Course for Development of Personal and Professional Competences" is intended for III and IV rank civil servants. In accordance with the legislation of Georgia, a person who is appointed to the position of an official for the first time on the basis of an open or closed competition goes through the mentioned program. In addition, depending on the needs of the public institution, other officials can also go through the basic program.
The course includes the following subjects: ethics in public service; administrative proceedings; professional communication, cooperation and teamwork; effective service and time management. The program will be led by 19 highly qualified trainers, including 6 employees of the Training Centre, as well as trainers invited from the Trainers' Association and the Public Service Bureau trainers' bases. In case of successful completion of the course, a certificate will be issued, which confirms that the official has the necessary competencies for public service activities.
The program of the Training Centre responds to the priority direction of the activity of Election Administration of Georgia, which envisages the systematic promotion of professional development of persons employed in the Central Election Commission of Georgia and the District Election Commissions.
