The Election Administration continues to actively cooperate with higher education institutions. This time, students from 7 higher education institutions in Georgia met with the officials of District Election Commissions (DEC) and received important election-related information such as new electoral reforms, election services offered to voters, and technological innovations piloted by the Election Administration.
Meetings with students were organized within the framework of the Election Administration's information campaign "Talk to Voters". The campaign aims at strengthening communication between the Election Administration and voters and sharing with voters’ election-related information.
Informational meetings with youth were held online on May 5-25 and were attended by about 130 students from Ilia State University, Caucasus International University, Alte University, Gori State Teaching University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, and Samtskhe-Javakheti State University.
It should be noted that in partnership with higher education institutions, the CEC Center for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training implements an annual program in the field of electoral law. Currently, the spring semester for the 2021-2022 academic year is offered to undergraduate students in the faculties of Law, Social Sciences, and Journalism. The mentioned meetings between the DEC officials and students were part of this program.
Implementation of such projects is one of the strategic priorities of the Election Administration and aims at advancing electoral culture among young people.
