An information forum with civil servants was held on September 27, in partnership with the CEC, the Training Center, and the Civil Service Bureau, in order to ensure free and credible elections, while preventing the misuse of administrative resources in the electoral process.

Head of Civil Service Bureau Ekaterine Kardava and CEC chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili opened the event. They emphasized the role of civil servants in the process of democratic elections.

The Training Centre director Natia Zaalishvili and head of the Legal Department Giorgi Santuriani, invited to the forum as speakers. By sharing international practice and national legislation, civil servants received information on the following important issues:

• legal status of civil servants in electoral processes
• conducting pre-election agitation, participation in agitation - restrictions and prohibitions
• use of administrative resources in the election process - restrictions and prohibitions
• international standards for illegal use of administrative resources
• use of official or positional status in the election process - restrictions and prohibitions
• prevention and respond to violations through the illegal use of administrative resources and official/positional status in the Election Process

Informational forum was held in online format, representatives of central and municipal institutions participated in it.
