The “Electoral Development School” starts accepting applicants. After the successful implementation of the project in 2015-2019, for the first time this year, the Electoral Development Schools will also be held in winter.

Young people aged 18-25 can receive training on electoral issues and gain relevant knowledge. The training course will be held from February 17 to 28.

The “Electoral Development School” program contains the following topics: electoral systems, election administration, 1919 Elections of Constituent Assembly, Democratic election principles, elected bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, transparency and accessibility of elections, gender equality and so on. The “Electoral Development School” is constantly improving and this year the following topics were added to the training course: electronic voting devices, elections and surveys, disinformation and spreading fake news during the election period.

The project will increase civic engagement and popularize elections among the youth. The “Electoral Development School” aims to expand and cover the whole Georgia, enabling election administration officials to share their professional experiences with more young people.

In February, training will be held in eight cities (Tbilisi, Telavi, Rustavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and Batumi).

Applicant must complete the application form and submit it to the District Election Commissions (DECs) in the above-mentioned cities and to the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Tbilisi from February 6 to February 13. The applicant must have an ID when submitting the documents.

The project is implemented with the support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
