Today, presentation of 2018 Report on the activities at the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and the Training Centre was held. Tamar Zhvania, the CEC Chairperson provided information on the activities implemented in the previous year to local non-governmental and international organizations, political parties, and media representatives.
Institutional strengthening, civic and voter education, improving electoral environment and advancing electoral operations comprising main priorities the Election Administration was focusing on during 2018, according to Tamar Zhvania.
The CEC Chairperson spoke about existing challenges and future goals, including ongoing activities in terms of May 19 By-elections and Extraordinary Elections.
Ms. Zhvania presented the publication on the local self-government elections held in the Democratic Republic of Georgia. The publication was developed by the CEC initiative in cooperation with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
