Representatives of the Central Election Commission and Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training participated in the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Romania’s independence. The event organized by the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania was held in two parts and the main theme of the conference held in the first part was equal suffrage. The second part emphasized the issues of free elections, parliaments and nation-building.
During the second part of the conference, Ana Mikeladze, the CEC spokesperson delivered a speech; Ms Mikeladze talked about improving the credibility of the Election Administration by reducing the deadline for announcing preliminary results. An article prepared by the Election Administration of Georgia on the above mentioned issue will be published in the annual journal „The Romanian Journal of Electoral Studies“.
It should be noted that the conference also focused on different aspects of equality principle and their significance in elections, equal suffrage and mandate distribution as well as Romanian 100 years’ experience.
On May 3-6, Valerian Maisuradze, head of Internal Audit Department, Natia Zaalishvili, director of the CEC Training Center, Maia Zaridze the trainer, together with Ana Mikeladze, the CEC spokesperson attended the event.
