From August 29 through September 9, 2017, the CEC and the Training Center have held trainings for the representatives of local self-government bodies and regional administrations, aimed at informing participants about the role of local self-government bodies in the electoral processes and the matters related to banning the use of administrative resources for October 21, 2017 Elections.

Training participants learned about such important issues as:

• the role of municipality bodies in electoral processes;
• credibility of elections and the role of civil servants (restrictions applicable to individuals employed in the civil service);
• prohibiting the abuse of official status;
• prohibiting the use of administrative resources;
• prohibition of the use of budget funds.

The trainings were held at the Election Administration regional resource centers. A total of 8 training sessions were held at 7 cities of Georgia: Bolnisi, Telavi, Tbilisi, Borjomi, Kutaisi, Senaki, Batumi.

Manuals prepared for this program were distributed to participants.
