On June 10, 2016, elections of the highest self-governance body—board of trustees elections will be held at over 2000 public schools throughout Georgia. Based on the cooperation initiative proposed by the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia, the CEC and the Training Center will facilitate internal elections at public schools, through implementing the project of training representatives of Educational Resource Centers (ERC).
153 representatives of ERCs took the Training Program developed by the CEC Training Center – Elections of Members of Public School Boards of Trustees and the polling day procedures. Trainings were implemented at the CEC Training Center, and they ended on June 3, 2016.
ERCs were also provided awareness raising and training resources produced by the Training Center, among them, the so-called Instruction Booklets designed for effective implementation of functions by members of electoral commissions. According to the agreed-upon concept, ERC representatives trained by the Training Center will, in turn, train members of electoral commissions established within public schools.
The CEC and the Training Center actively cooperate with stakeholders towards implementing electoral culture development oriented projects, among them, in the area of supporting internal elections at various organizations/institutions, in line with the goals and objectives stipulated in the Electoral Administration 2016 Action Plan.
