Within the study visit organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), officials of Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and its Training Centre met with Moldovan and Mongolian delegations. Alina Russu, Chairperson of Central Electoral Commission was leading delegation of the Republic of Moldova.
CEC officials shared experience on financing political parties with representatives of Election Administration of Moldova and its Audit service, as well as representatives of Audit Service of Mongolia.
CEC Chairperson informed meeting participants on the role of CEC when it comes to political party funding. Tamar Zhvania talked in details on the legislative framework.
Otar Buskivadze, Head of CEC Finance Department delivered the presentation and gave comprehensive information on political party/bloc funding within CEC mandate. Natia Zaalishvili, Director of CEC Training Centre talked about the activities of the Centre in regard with the development and funding of political parties.
Within the framework of the study visit, meetings were held with State Audit Office and NGO representatives.
