The CEC Training Center has held an informational meeting with the representatives of local NGOs registered as observers for October 28, 2018 Elections.

Natia Zaalishvili, Training Center Director, has opened the meeting. She underscored the crucial role of every electoral stakeholder in ensuring that the Elections are held in free and safe environment.

Training Center representatives presented the electoral legislation updated and covered various important matters, among them:

• Voting day and managing electoral operations;
• Rights status of electoral stakeholders;
• Basis and technique for drawing up voting day application/complaint;
• Voters personal data protection;
• Summarizing voting results.

As part of the meeting, the participants were also briefed about legislative mechanisms for ensuring safe electoral environment and international electoral security standards. Representatives of IFES, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Training Center briefed the participants and shared experience about the above-mentioned matters.

The informational meeting was held on September 19, in Tbilisi. Another meeting with the representatives of local observer organizations will be held on September 21.
