CEC and the Training Centre conducted informational trainings for the representatives of regional media on September 25, 27 and 28, 2017. The training activities were implemented in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi and 55 journalists participated in it.

Journalists from regional media were introduced to various important issues regarding October 21, 2017 Municipal elections, among them:

• Role of media in election process;
• Regulations concerning photo/video recording on the polling day;
• Electoral rights of the media representatives;
• Pre-election campaign and administrative resources;
• Promoting inclusive electoral environment;
• International experience and main schemes for election coverage

Special guiding books - E-Day Procedures – elaborated by the Training Centre were handed to the participants.

The trainings were conducted with the support of International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and in cooperation with “Georgian Regional Media Association” and “Journalism Resource Centre”.
