Training of regional media representatives for the Parliament of Georgia October 8, 2016 Elections
The Central Election Commission of Georgia and the Training Center continue the implementation of training and awareness raising programs for electoral stakeholders for the Parliament of Georgia October 8, 2016 Elections.
From September 16 through September 18, trainings are implemented for the representatives of regional media in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. The training and awareness-raising program is aimed at promoting awareness of participants around electoral issues and effective implementation of their functions. The training will focus on such important issues, as:
- legislative updates
- using administrative resources
- the role and rights of mass media in the electoral process
- photo and video shooting regulations on the polling day
- sharing international experience and basic schemes for reporting on elections
- the policy to promote engagement of voters with disabilities and other activities directed towards the improvement of services for voters
The trainings are implemented in cooperation with the Regional Media Association of Georgia, Georgia Regional Broadcasters’ Association and IFES. Relevant manuals prepared by the Training Center will be distributed to training participants.
