Information about the commencement of the second stage of trainings of members of precinct election commissions for the October 8, 2016 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia

According to the concept of trainings developed for the October 8, 2016 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia, 2nd stage of trainings of members of precinct election commissions will be launched from September 10. Full composition of election precinct members will be trained by covering the following key training modules:

  • Activities of precinct election commissions during the period prior to the voting day (general list of voters, special list and the rule of designing a list for the mobile ballot box);
  • Activities of precinct election commissions on the day of voting (opening polling station and procedures to be performed before voting, the voting process, opening the polling station, summarizing voting results)
  • Applications/complaints on the voting day;
  • Conflict management.

To facilitate the enhancement of procedural knowledge of members of the Electoral Administration, the training will be delivered using a hybrid methodology. Among other activities, training participants will perform episodic staging of the polling day (the exercise of distribution of functions based on the cast of lots, and performing the functions of registrar), that will ensure the development of their practical skills. The rule of work of members of precinct election commissions and polling day procedures will also be covered at the training, in the format of the training film.
