On August 6-13, 2016, training for the representatives of local self-government bodies and regional administrations will be held at regional resource centers of the Electoral Administration. The training is aimed at informing participants about the role of self-government bodies in the electoral processes and the issues related to the prohibition of using administrative resources for the October 8, 2016, Parliament of Georgia Elections.

Training participants will get acquainted with such important issues as:

• legislative updates;
• organizing elections and the role of local self-government bodies in the elections processes;
• participation and restrictions during pre-election campaign (agitation) prohibition of using official status;
• prohibition of the use of administrative resources;
• administrative violations protocol;

Employees of the Training Center and the CEC Legal Department will conduct the trainings. Textbooks produced for this program will be distributed to the participants.

the goal of training programs designed by the Training Center is to facilitate the development of qualification of various electoral stakeholders around the subject of elections, which is a necessary precondition for ensuring solid elections process from legal and organizational standpoint, as well as full-fledged realization of the rights of voters.
