At 12:00 and 4:00 pm on April 8, 2014, the CEC Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings is conducting the training for women willing to run as the candidates for the 2014 local self-government elections. The participants will be familiarized with the following key issues:

1. The elections of local self-government bodies:

• the essence of local self-governance
• elective bodies of local self-government
• election system
• active and passive suffrage.

2. Registation of electoral subjects:

• registration of a voters’ initiative group
• the rule of presenting candidates at a majoritarian election district
• the rule of submission of party lists
• the procedure of presenting mayoral/executive officer candidates
• registration of party lists and candidates.

3. Pre-election campaign (agitation)

The mentioned initiative has been developed by the NGOs working on gender equality issues and the CEC Standing Commission in accordance with the priorities identified through joint meetings and are aimed at supporting increased involvement of women in the election process.

The training project is implemented in partnership with the non-commercial legal entity Gender Equality Network (GEN) and the non-commercial legal entity Women Information Center (WIC).
