For October 31, 2020 Elections, in accordance with the CEC Decree N75/2020 issued on September 3, 2020, the Training Centre conducted professional training for the members of special group set up at Bagram and Mazar-e-Sharif polling stations in Afghanistan.

The abovementioned aims at promoting the realization of the universal suffrage of Georgian citizens serving in the peacekeeping battalions of the Georgian Armed Forces stationed in Afghanistan.

The following main training modules were covered at the training:

• opening of the polling station and procedures to be carried out before the start of voting;
• functions to be performed by PEC members on Election Day;
• the rule of voting by voters (including the principle of free demonstration of will and the secrecy of vote);
• voters’ personal data protection;
• closing election precincts, PEC members’ functions in the process of sorting/counting/sealing ballot papers;
• drawing up polling results summary protocol and its publicity;
• voting day applications/complaints;
• Regulations related to holding elections in a safe environment during the pandemic.

The training was conducted in a online format and was attended by 17 members of special group (among them women - 6, men - 11).
