1st Stage Trainings for PEC members for the second round of October 28, 2018 Presidential Elections

According to the Trainings Concept developed by the Training Center for the second round of October 28, 2018 Presidential Elections, 1st stage trainings of PEC members were held for the leadership of PECs during the period of November 20-22.

Among other areas of competence of leadership of PECs, the following topics were focused: vote counting process, instructions of filling out voting day summary protocol, rule for sealing election documentation, legislative mechanisms with respect to addressing polling day application/complaints, keeping voting day records book. The trainings were delivered through the practical training methodology.

Observers from 7 local observer organizations and from the international observer organization attended the training sessions (a total of 64 observers):

  • The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR);
  • Youth center – Our Generation 1921;
  • Institutional Development and Monitoring Center;
  • Union 21st Century;
  • Centre for Development and Democracy;
  • Georgia’s Democratic Principles and Human Rights Union;
  • International Center for Democratic Initiatives;
  • Workers and Students Union for Professional Education and Qualified Personnel Training.

9228 head officials from 3648 PECs (including 11 PECs established in exceptional case) took 1st Stage trainings, among them – 6898 female, 2330 male. Follow the link for detailed statistics.
