Attendance Statistics, Training of DEC Members for October 28, 2018 Elections

During September 18-24, 2018, trainers trained by the Training Centre delivered the training to the members of 73 DECs. The participants were acquainted with the matters falling within their powers, including

  • DEC activities during the pre-election period;
  • Voting day and election operations management;
  • Voters’ personal data protection;
  • Communication/coordination with PECs;
  • Summarizing voting results at DECs;
  • Elections credibility and security.

During the training course, participants were also acquainted with instructional guidance developed by the Training Center. Based on the guidance, DEC members presented to PEC members rule of holding a first session and procedure of electing leadership, in role play format.

Observers from 2 international observer organizations and 8 local observer organizations (a total of 69 observers) attended the conducted trainings:

  • Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights OSCE/ODIHR;
  • National Democratic Institute NDI;
  • The International Foundation for Electoral Systems IFES;
  • International Center for Democratic Initiatives;
  • Democratic Principles and Human Rights Organization of Georgia;
  • Youth Center – Our Generation 1921;
  • Institutional Development and Monitoring Center;
  • Fair Elections and Monitoring Center;
  • Workers’ and Students’ Trade Union, Georgia Vocational Education and Qualified Workforce training.

Trainings of DEC members ended on September 24. 827 members of 73 DECs took the training, among them – 536-female, 291 – male.
