Electoral Development School” launches admission of applicants. Young people aged to 18-24 will be able to undergo learning course on electoral issues and receive relevant knowledge on the respective field. The course will be conducted through the period of July 16 - 27.
The project is aimed at promoting civic engagement and popularization of election among youth. The training program will be implemented by the members of District Election Commissions trained by the Training Centre.
Learning course of “Electoral Development School” covers the following issues: election systems, election administration, 1919 Elections of the Constituent Assembly, democratic electoral principles, elective bodies in Georgia, electoral stakeholders, transparency, accessibility of elections, gender equality, etc.
After successful implementation of the project in 2015-2017 years, the number of schools has been increased this year. The learning course will be implemented in Tbilisi and 23 municipalities: Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Telavi, Akhmeta, Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli, Dusheti, Gori, Akhalgori (Tserovani, IDPs settlement), Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Ambrolauri, Sachkhere, Zestaphoni, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi and Kobuleti.
Interested persons willing to undergo the course, should complete the application form and submit to any District Election Commission through the period of July 4-11. Applicants shall provide identification document while submitting the application.
The project is being implemented by the support of Council of Europe (CoE) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
