Training in Legal Writing and Administrative Proceedings Related to Election Disputes
During June 4-19, 2018, the CEC and the Training Center are holding an updated training course Legal Writing and Electoral Disputes Related Administrative Proceedings for the head officials of DECs.
The training was opened by the head officials of the CEC and the Training Center. Giorgi Sharabidze, CEC Deputy Chair and Giorgi Javakhishvili, CEC Secretary, informed the participants about the training course and underscored the importance of training modules. IFES Project Director also attended the meeting.
Nino Berulava, Deputy director of the Training Center, made a detailed presentation of the Training Center initiative that envisages offering a new module on managing emotions, complex conversations and conflict situations to head officials of DECs, as part of the training program.
The Training is led by the employees of the CEC Legal Department, Training Center employees and invited experts, Tariel Sikharulidze, Maia Jorjikia and David Ghonghadze.
The trainings are delivered using a combined method comprising electronic and practical training (including practical exercises and role plays) and cover the following areas:
- legal writing;
- general overview of administrative proceedings;
- Reviewing application/complaint and making a decision.
- prepare decision about administrative violations;
- Managing emotions, hard conversations and conflict situations.
The training course will be delivered to 10 groups (230 participants), in stages. The groups are composed of chairs of DECs, their deputies and secretaries, as well as the CEC regional coordinators.
The trainings are implemented with the engagement and financial support of International Foundation of Electoral Systems (IFES).
