During May 15-25, 2017, the Training Centre is holding a TOT course. Following professional development, 62 trainers of the Election Administration will deliver the training course "Courses for Electoral Administrators 2017" in 63 municipalities of Georgia.

Leadership of the CEC opened the activity. Tamar Zhvania, CEC Chair, addressed the importance of implementing the Awareness Raising and Training Project. IFES Project Country Director also attended the meeting.

Natia Zaalishvili, Training Centre Director, briefed the participants about the details of the CEC and the Training Centre initiative that is aimed at enhancing civic awareness on electoral matters and contributes to developing qualified human resources to enable electoral stakeholders to select professional staff.

The Training Course "Courses for Electoral Administrators 2017" will introduce to those willing to participate in the project the matters falling under the purview of precinct election commissions, among them:

• procedures prior to polling;
• the polling process, closing a polling station;
• procedures prior to the opening of a ballot box;
• opening a ballot box;
• procedures to be performed prior to drawing up a polling results summary protocol;
• drawing up polling results summary protocol, publicity of the summary protocol.

The CEC and the Training Centre have been implementing the Training Course through IFES support, since 2015.

Training schedules will be gradually posted to the Training Center website.
