The CEC of Georgia and the Training Centre held working meetings with representatives of the District Election Commissions (DECs) of west Georgia. The main theme of the three-day discussions was the new project of the election administration (EA) “talking to voters".

Tamar Zhvania, the CEC Chairperson talked about the importance of the project and its objectives with the representatives of Samegrelo, Svaneti, Adjara, Guria, Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi DECs. The new project aims to raise awareness of voters on 2017 elections during the field meetings and serves to create closer communication between DECs and voters.

The head of the CEC Coordination, Planning and Reporting Department, head of Public Relations Division and head of Training Programs’ Division of the Training Center discussed the details of the project implementation as well as future activities with the participants.

During the meeting, gender issues in the election context were discussed. Working meetings of April 19-21, were held with the support of IFES.
